Stay focused as a telecommuter

Telecommuting is on the rise; and while it’s nice to roll out of bed and clock in while still in your PJs, there is a downside: With all of the office restrictions gone, it can be hard to stay focused.

Here are some tips for staying productive when working at home:

Set a schedule. Plan out your start time and breaks, then stick to that routine every day.

Create a dedicated office space in your home. Organize the things you need, and get a good chair that will keep you comfortable.

Allot a certain amount of time for every task each day. Giving yourself a time limit will help you concentrate and get things done.

Invest in a good internet connection. Your productivity will plummet if you struggle to stay connected all day.

Avoid social media. Since no one is around to catch you scrolling Facebook, the temptation to get lost in it will be worse.

Schedule exercise time. A workout will energize you and help you stay focused.
