Tips to improve your health at work

Our bodies weren’t designed to be sedentary for so long in the office. Following are some tips for making those hours count toward your well-being:

Re-energize with music. Turn on your headphones and get moving with your favorite song. A quick dance can get natural endorphins pumping.

Try some easy aromatherapy. Put a lemon-scented candle on your desk or use a citrus face wash in the morning to perk yourself up.

Protect your vision. Every 20 minutes or so, look away from your computer to give your eyes a rest from the screen. Adjust the brightness, contrast and text size of your computer so your eyes feel comfortable.

Engage your sense of touch. If you work from home, take a snuggle break with your pet; if you’re in an office, play with a toy like a ball or a Nerf gun.

Get some sun and fresh air. Go for a walk to get your blood flowing and soak up some rays.

Become a tea drinker. Green tea offers natural antioxidants. If you’re a coffee person, give straight-up black coffee a try rather than loading it with milk and sugar.
